Two red chevrons, pointed upward on his sleeves ... would that be the rank of caporal, something more or less akin to what the Americans and British call a lance corporal ?

I really like the color of the uniform ... for parades. In 1914, it was so easy for germans to spot out french soldiers that it wasn't even funny.

These trousers name is France!

Or had least that was what a French General said in 1913, when was suggested to change the red trousers for something less flashy -and cheap!-

The muddy colurs where for tasteless brits and germans, not brave French soldiers!

Is a shame 1914 proved wrong that General :P
